KEEPING THEIR CREATIVITY HIGH
When the SEE Artists started, their full intentions were to create a collective that had four different characters, each one had his own style and his very own experiences. It was obvious from the start that each member had passion and drive that could enable the group to expand creatively as well as further their reach. Every show is carefully presented and exquisitly hung so each painting compliments the next. There is a strong scent of proffessionalism and a high standard bought into the group from each artists' previous professions, from art restorer, musician to film director. All these characteristics help in attracting a wide range of clients new and old. It becomes an experience to glide seemlessly from abstract to landscape, action painting to conceptual installation, a contained visual explosion. In a bid to heighten their creativity the SEE Artists have started to compete against each other within their own group. Bi monthly each artist takes it in turn to present a piece of work that is to be exhibited in the Antony Francis jones Gallery in prime position, centre stage in the window. Pirched on a one metre tall plynth and encapsulated within a 15 inch perspex box each artist has to create an installation, painting, photograph or sculpture. So far Antony Francis jones has displayed his own working boots that are splashed and streaked in multicoloured paint that look like the perfect hommage to Jackson Pollack. The boots have been photographed hundreds of times and a forum has been started in Holland discussing pros and cons. Ben Oakley has displayed 'CREDIT CRUNCH' a topical installation showing an arrangement of house bricks sprayed gold that carries a well executed description with large hint of irony.'Credit Crunch' was an edition of two, one of which sold to a London gallery owner on it's first day. Next month Mark Paul Perry will be secretly creating a miniture masterpeice that he hopes will superseed the last two efforts. Images will be uploaded soon.
