Ben Oakley

Born in 66 Ben started his working life in graphic design and art direction for photographic and film shoots. He then moved into the film business full time where after seven years he started his own film production company. ‘Secret River’ winning awards for different projects most notably at the Bristol film festival for best use of Audio and Visual in the short film catagory. Ben’s career path has been diverse, a ‘Creative Furball’. From lighting and furniture design, to strikingly beautiful mosaic installations.

He has designed and launched ‘The Apod’ an iconic funky clip on inhaler case for asthma sufferers.

Running alongside all Ben’s pursuits lies his true passion ‘The Art World’ and over the last three years he has gained momentum, producing some of his most visually engaging and thought provoking works to date.

His current work ‘Multiples of Something’ a series of colourful pieces which evoke the familiarity and intrigue of his work and are a bolder version of his sell out ‘Monotone’ show at the Turf Gallery ‘Multiples of Nothing’.

Large framed one off stencilled images spray painted onto fujichrome photographic paper. Each piece resonates of Ben’s time spent in the film industry that repeats a single image reminiscent of individual film cells.

Using Spray paint , Acrylic and Emulsion Ben Oakley’s works are original, fresh and cleverly executed.
